Reed.ai's Beta is just 12 weeks old and I’ve been reflecting on what we’ve learned so far. This phase has been fast, energising, and collaborative. Five themes have stood out that are shaping how we build from here.
1. Start with customer feedback
Our beta customers have been generous with their thoughts, ideas, and direct feedback, and it’s shaped the product in meaningful ways. From refining our matching algorithms, to allowing document uploads, to improving conversational flow, every feature direction has been informed by our customer insight. It’s a powerful reminder that the fastest way to build the right thing is to build with your customers, not just for them.
2. Collaboration builds momentum
Our team is working side by side with a shared sense of purpose. Being in the room together, whiteboards covered, ideas challenged, and problems solved. This way of working has accelerated our pace. Collaboration hasn’t just helped us move faster, it’s helped us stay connected to why we’re building in the first place.
3. Innovation meets tradition
We’re working at the frontier of AI innovation, building new capabilities that didn’t exist even a year ago. And yet, what we’re doing is also one of the oldest ideas in business: bringing people together to create value. Recruitment is about connecting people at the right time, and this simplicity makes the work both grounding and exciting. It’s a reminder that technology evolves, but many of the rules of business stay the same.
4. Focus over frenzy
In a fast moving environment, it’s tempting to chase every idea and explore every possible path. But our most meaningful progress has come from focusing on what matters most right now. Clear priorities create alignment. Alignment creates momentum. And momentum, especially at this stage, is everything.
5. Bridging people and technology
AI can be perceived as complex and even intimidating. But what we’re seeing is the opposite. When designed with intention AI becomes a tool for simplicity. It reduces friction, removes noise and makes digital interactions feel more human. The dichotomy is fascinating: behind the scenes, the technology is sophisticated and powerful, yet for users the experience should feel effortless. We are using advanced technology to connect people simply.
So these learnings are our compass. Build with customers. Collaborate in person. Innovate with purpose. Focus on what matters. And make technology that feels human.
